We are currently looking for Rotarians to take on leadership roles for the 2021-2022 Rotary year.  There are Board positions that will be opening up and you could be the right person for the job!  Please contact Tom Marquez or Cynthia Gitta if you are interested, or would like more details.

Last Week we heard from Peter Komendowski from the Partnership for a Healthy Iowa . The Partnership focuses on high risk behavior in youth-focusing on ages 8-18- including substance abuse, media overuse, bullying , sexting, and violence in media. They seek to provide resources and educational programs related to digital literacy education, teen depression/suicide, internet usage, device usage,  and positive parenting/grandparenting, along with education on alcohol consumption, nicotine use, substance abuse, and opioid education. They speak to public and private organizations in communities across Iowa and to schools, as well as offering a real time survey to learn about the specific questions and issues children are having so they can make sure their programs and resources remain relevant. We thank Peter for speaking to us and for what he is doing to strengthen youth and families in Iowa!

Rotary Opens Opportunities
Rotary is not just a club you join. It is an invitation to endless opportunities. It opens opportunities to serve in a project as big and historic as End Polio Now and also in a small community project, where you just plant a tree. It opens opportunities for you to live a richer, more meaningful life, with friends around the world, based on our core values. Everything we do opens another opportunity for someone, somewhere.
The 2020-2021 theme is: Rotary Opens Opportunities.
