March Vets Dinner
Every year we have the Vets Dinner but due to the pandemic we are having to rethink our efforts to add value to local veterans. Please feel free to send any ideas to Tom Marquez to consider as we plan our March service. Thank you.
What you missed last week:

Last week Ben Brustkern joined us to tell us about all Friends of the Family does to help and provide safety to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Friends of the Family was established in 1992 in Waverly and today provides a 21 bed emergency shelter and 24-7 assistance with the overall goal of moving people into permanent housing as soon as possible. Some supports they offer are rental assistance, rapid rehousing, homeowner support and resources, transitional housing and homelessness prevention. They also provide legal , medical, reunification and other support for victims of human trafficking and a new housing program is in development. We thank Ben and his organization for making our community a safer place !
We also thank our own Jill White for briefly discussing the organization Young Parents Together that she works for and that we are doing one of our service projects for this month. The program helps pregnant and parenting teens with resources to succeed , including the gas cards we are helping to provide.
Rotary is not just a club you join. It is an invitation to endless opportunities. It opens opportunities to serve in a project as big and historic as End Polio Now and also in a small community project, where you just plant a tree. It opens opportunities for you to live a richer, more meaningful life, with friends around the world, based on our core values. Everything we do opens another opportunity for someone, somewhere.
The 2020-2021 theme is: Rotary Opens Opportunities.
